Leadership Transition at Living Hope
Dear Friends of Living Hope Wheelchair Association,
We’d like to take this moment to express our immense gratitude to Pancho Arguelles, Living Hope’s outgoing Executive Director, for his vision and commitment to Living Hope members and their families, to people living with disabilities, and to the immigrant community at large.
Living Hope continues its transformative work to improve the quality of life of immigrants living with spinal cord injury. In preparation for Pancho’s last day on August 15, 2021, Living Hope staff Tomas Aguilar and Francisco Cedillo have already stepped into the role of interim Co-Directors. A new Board of Directors was also appointed in June 2021. Finally, Pancho will continue on as a consultant with Living Hope to ensure a seamless transition.
With eagerness and excitement, we are announcing the launch of the search for the next Executive Director. We are seeking candidates with courage, compassion, and a demonstrated record of organizational leadership, fundraising acumen, and public policy savvy. An Executive Director Transition Committee was formed in June 2021, composed of representatives from Living Hope’s Board of Directors, staff, and membership to support the Executive Director Search process. Sweet Livity LLC, a Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) and a woman-owned social enterprise and B-Lab certified benefit organization, is guiding the leadership transition and the search for a new executive director. Sweet Livity supports leaders and groups serving vulnerable communities to do their jobs to the fullest, with improved well-being, sustainability, and results.
As valued partners and allies, we invite you to help Living Hope find the right person to step into this role of Executive Director. Please feel free to circulate the position announcement widely to your networks. Feel free to reach out directly to our Search Consultant at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or referrals to potential candidates. To apply for the position, see the instructions in the job description.
We greatly appreciate you lending a hand in finding exceptional candidates to build on the foundation laid by Pancho’s 10-year legacy of leadership. We look forward to updating you on the transition process in the coming months.

Alane Celeste-Villalvir, Board Secretary
